Jay has been teaching Bass Guitar at Premier Music since we have opened our doors in 2004, and he has been teaching the Rhythm and Groove program (which he has co-authored) with Mark for over 12 years.  Jay has worked professionally as a Bassist in the Los Angeles area since 1991, performing with many artists both live and in the studio. 

After attending Eastern Arizona College on a full scholarship Jay relocated to Los Angeles where he graduated from Musicians Institute with full honors.  Shortly thereafter he returned to Musicians Institute as an instructor where he teaches classes such as the "Real World LPW" and the "Classic Rock LPW".

Jay's book "First Bass" is the standard curriculum for bass students here at Premier Music and the followup "Second Bass" is due out soon!
