Classes
All classes are $60.00 per month and there is a one time $20.00 materials fee per course
Intro to Blues Class
This class is a chance to start playing with other musicians while you are learning the basics of the Blues. The class covers blues forms (12 bar, 8 bar, Minor Blues progressions), different feels (Shuffle, Straight, Funky, Mambo), Soloing, Rhythm Guitar, Bass Lines, Drum Grooves for each style and much more!
Each 3 month session ends with a public performance in a local club or restaurant.
Rhythm and Groove Class
Rhythm and Groove classes have students on Guitar, Bass and Drums playing together and learning the basics of playing music in a group in several styles. After completing the Beginning and Intermediate phases of the class, each student is allowed to pick two songs and the Advanced phase of the class is spent working towards a final performance as a complete band with vocalists. Recitals are held every 8-10 weeks and the final performance is given in a local restaurant or auditorium.
Songwriting
This ongoing 1-hour class will focus on the basics of songwriting: song structure, harmony, melody and lyrics. Each month, students will complete a new song and perform it for the class. No prior songwriting experience is necessary, but students should be familiar with the instrument of their choice (guitar, piano, bass, etc.)
Rock Ensemble
In this ongoing 1-hour class, students will form a Rock Band and work up cover songs. The focus will be on ensemble playing, arrangement, performance technique, and getting "tight."
