Private Drum and Percussion Instruction and Performance Classes
Tyler Walton is a professional drummer with many years of experience teaching, performing live, and recording in the studio. Tyler began playing drums professionally while in high school, working in several rock, blues, and Top 40 bands all over southern California. After graduating, Tyler enrolled at Fullerton College where he performed with all of the college's award-winning jazz, latin, and classical music ensembles while also beginning his study of orchestral percussion instruments. Tyler continued to stay busy working professionally in a variety of musical settings outside of the college environment, including teaching drum lessons at several of Orange County's top music schools.
After graduating from Fullerton College with an Associate of Arts degree in music, Tyler set his sights on Los Angeles, where he enrolled at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. While studying at MI, Tyler performed with several prominent rock/pop artists in the Hollywood area such as Alana Stone, Curtis Murphy Syndicate, and singer/songwriter Shaley Scott, whom he was featured playing drums for on NBC's hit music reality show "Star Tomorrow." Tyler also worked with legendary guitarist Carl Verheyen (Supertramp, L.A. studios) on the set of CSI: Las Vegas.
In 2012, Tyler completed his Bachelor of Music degree in Orchestral Percussion Performance at California State University Fullerton, where he was percussion section leader of the college's concert band as well as co-principal percussion of the college's symphony orchestra.
Tyler's professional credits in the symphonic genre include performances with the Rio Hondo Symphony, the Nouveau Chamber Ballet, the Long Beach Camerata Singers, the Pacific Brass Ensemble, and a recent tour of Portugal with the CSUF concert band.
Some of Tyler's more note-worthy performances include recent gigs with iconic rockabilly guitarist Paul Pigat and legendary blues guitarist Kid Ramos.
Tyler is currently the drum instructor at Premier School of Music in Orange County, where he has taught since the school opened in 2004.
