Josh Friedman, a trumpeter, guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator, has studied music since he was five. Born in small town Munster, IN Josh began to play the trumpet at age nine. At 18, he began his training at the Cincinnati Conservatory of music. While in Cincinnati he taught as the head trumpet faculty and assistant jazz instructor at the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts. In 2003, he earned both a Bachelors Degree in Music and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education with a status of Professional Standing from The Ohio State University. He is currently completing a Masters Degree in Music from The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University in Long Beach.

Mr. Friedman has performed as a soloist and with various professional ensembles in over fifty communities in the US and Canada. As a featured artist in residence he has performed in Prague, Vienna, Bulgaria, Poland, Germany, and Israel. Prior to moving to California, Mr. Friedman became an affiliated artist of the Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity which introduced him to the administration of Tarbut V’Torah Community Day School in Irvine, CA where he worked from 2004-2007 as the Department chair of Performing Arts and Music. As a recording artist he most recently released the CD “Sons of the Highest: Meditative Masterpieces”, a collaboration with pianist/composer Sha-Rone Kushner, created under the auspices of The Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity which is now being sold on Itunes.
